These are the games from the biggest genres that represent the upper echelons of what it truly means to be a "best Xbox game," which isn't always necessarily "most expensive Xbox game." Even smaller-budgeted games can dig deep and reach high in terms of fun, with Minecraft as a very clear example. These games were chosen for their quality, universal praise, and popularity among the Windows Central editorial team. We've collated our picks for best Xbox 360 games further below. There's also a list of backward compatible Xbox 360 and original Xbox games that work on the new systems too. Until then, though, know that all of the best Xbox One games are fully playable on Xbox Series X and Series S thanks to pervasive backward compatibility. We expect that in the next couple of years, the amount of games exclusive to the more powerful Xbox Series X and Series S will swell, justifying a separate list entirely.

Though I would likely be willing to sacrifice a lot of quests, gear, and perks to wander the wastes as a super mutant, I just don't think it'd work well. We've bundled our picks for best Xbox One and best Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S games into a single list for the time being since the lineup of next-gen exclusive games is still very small. Like I said, love the concept but I just can't see the execution of it being satisfactory.

Could you even get the quest? Why wouldn't you side with the ghouls? For example, taking care of the ghoul situation at Tenpenny Tower in Fallout 3 as a ghoul.

I mean, the game doesn't let you take some quests if your have a low enough INT, what'll it do when more than half the Wasteland thinks you're either disgusting or mindless? It would also take the tension out of some quests. I think the biggest issue would be making it feel like you're playing a ghoul or super mutant while still being able to play the game. What benefit would being human serve? Maybe ghouls are more easily damaged but absorb Rads and super mutants are harder to damage with Rad absorption, but can't use much armor. I've always liked the concept of being able to play as ghouls and super mutants (maybe not night kin so much because of the craziness), but I'm not sure how they'd work it in.
